The House of Representatives has voted to make deep cuts to education and eliminate national service programs, including AmeriCorps. Since 2002, Citizen Schools has received funding from AmeriCorps to support the service of our Teaching Fellows, the front-line educators who work directly with our students, parents, and school partners. With more than five hundred AmeriCorps-funded Teaching Fellows serving with us over the years, full-time AmeriCorps members are at the center of our strategy to improve students' academic performance, mobilize community volunteers, and help schools succeed.
