 During our daily hour of academic support time, known as AIM—Aspire, Invest, Make the Grade—staff members check students' assignments in their school agendas, and read feedback from their teachers about how they are doing in a given subject. Citizen Schools Team Leaders serve as academic coaches, providing:
- Time, space, resources, and tools to complete assignments
- Coaching by peers and Team Leader to support that homework is done correctly
- Opportunities to review and practice essential skills, including those taught during School Navigation, Success Highways, or 8th Grade Academy lessons
- Support for increased self-direction in students' learning
- Structures that normalize effort for every student, thus creating a culture of achievement
