College and beyond!
My name is Tyrone Tyson and I am completely invested in building a long-term educational partnership with the school!
Citizen Schools helps prepare under-served students for achievement and leadership in high school, college, the workforce, and civic life. Now, I know that not all of our students are the same kind of student that I was in school, but I am driven to give every Citizen Schools student the same love of learning that I experienced. That is why I am especially invested in our apprenticeship program. When we give our apprentices a chance to engage and learn in meaningful ways, they respond with immense enthusiasm and effort, while enjoying what they are learning!
A love of learning is also inspired by caring and committed teachers who are invested in their students' success. We work with our students on a daily basis and the talented staff here at the Revere campus is one of the strongest teams with which I have ever worked. A few key contributions that we are happy to bring to Revere this year:
- A talented staff of seven caring adults to work with 72 youth. Two of us will be in the main office full-time.
- A dynamic Mon.-Thurs. program (3:55-6:30pm), which includes homework time (AIM), a study skills curriculum (School Navigation), skill-based apprenticeships taught by citizens in the community (solar cars, ballroom dancing, hands on banking, and more), as well as time for sports and recreation.
- Financial resources through public grants, foundation support, corporate sponsors, and individual donors.
I encourage you to come take a look for yourself. Please feel free to contact me by phone to talk more about our program or to schedule a campus visit. We would be happy to welcome you to the Citizen Schools family!
Sincerely yours,
Tyrone Tyson

"I have been impressed with the enthusiasm of my students who are in Citizen Schools. They are proud of the projects they've done at Citizen Schools and are eager to show them off. I also notice these students trying harder in class. So, I think you are doing a fabulous job and are positively impacting student learning!" - Teacher, Revere Middle School
