About Brooklyn School for Global Studies
The Brooklyn School for Global Studies, a 6-12 grade learning community, is a New Visions for Public School that is committed to providing each student with a solid and purposeful education embedded in a standards-based environment. The school's theme-based curriculum seeks to make connections between all courses of study, the individual student and the real world. Every member of the community firmly believes that all children can learn. The community seeks to enhance their instructional practice, create meaningful learning experiences for students, and foster an excitement for learning that endures throughout their lives. Their curriculum is designed to encourage students to take ownership of their learning and growth, and to fulfill their school's mission which is "Understanding Ourselves, the World and How to Make Change."
