Dear apprentices, families and Citizen Teachers:
And we're off and running again! Welcome back for the spring 2010 semester. With new apprenticeships and some exciting explorations planned, this semester is sure to be a blast. Apprentices this semester will be focusing on MCAS preparation each week as they "work hard and reach for the stars!" In addition,
Twice a week, students participate in exciting hands-on learning experiences called Apprenticeships in which they learn real-life skills such as architecture, cooking, photography, solar cars, and more. Apprenticeships are taught by community volunteers and Citizen Schools staff.
- Students spend much of their time on campus with their team. Student teams are like a home base for students; a place where they can feel comfortable and known develop social and team-work skills.
- Students in Citizen Schools spend 60 minutes every day working on homework and practicing organizational skills which will help them achieve in their classes
If you are interested in enrolling your child in our program, learning more about how you can volunteer with or join Citizen Schools' staff please feel free to stop by our office at Keith or call me. I look forward to seeing you!
