This summer, the instructional leaders responsible for bringing Citizen Schools to life gathered for the third annual ELT Partnership Summit. Two days packed with workshops, guest speakers, and conversations set the stage for an academic year full of innovation and hard-won victories for our students.
Principals, teachers, district leaders and Citizen Schools staff at all levels met peers wrestling with similar challenges, problem-solved together on how to optimize and fund an expanded learning day, and encountered uplifting stories of success and opportunity.
As Expanded Learning Time has gained national attention as a key strategy in K-8 public education, practitioners like us know that it’s no silver bullet. We know it’s not only the extra time that drives results–it’s the people, and how they work together. It’s the partnership: working together, we help kids discover and achieve their dreams.
