Alex Madsen is the Admissions Manager for the Western region of Citizen Schools. Alex attended Foothill Middle School in the San Francisco Bay Area, where she was born and raised. Alex received her undergraduate degree from Bucknell University in East Asian Religion. In 2008 she joined Teach for America where she served as an early childhood educator for two years. Following her time with TFA, Alex attended the University of Denver where she received an MA in International Human Rights.
Prior to her work at Citizen Schools, Alex worked with the Human Trafficking Clinic at the University of Denver as a research associate, as well as with the Morgridge College of Education at the University of Denver on the development of a comprehensive human rights and human trafficking curriculum (K-12th grade) and supplementary teachers’ compendium.
Alex is passionate about creating effective, long-lasting changes that work to close the achievement gap in this Country.
