Citizen Schools prides itself on maintaining a lifelong affiliation with its former staff, and as a Citizen Schools staff alumna/alumnus, you are part of a growing network of passionate, diverse, and gifted leaders. The mission of the Citizen Schools Staff Alumni Engagement Department is to connect, support, and mobilize Citizen Schools staff alumni in their efforts as educators, community builders, and civic leaders dedicated to education reform. Our vision is an inspired, empowered, and engaged network of alumni who continue to educate youth and strengthen communities beyond their Citizen Schools tenure.

Social Networking

LinkedIn provides its users with access to networking opportunities.

Start by creating an account, building your complete profile and linking to your friends and colleagues. LinkedIn is powerful if used to search out individuals you may know at organizations where you might want to work, or if used to connect with new individuals who might provide links or references to additional opportunities. It can be used to connect with friends for free, but there is a charge to connect, beyond a limited number of messages, with new individuals.

How to use LinkedIn effectively:

• Add Citizen Schools staff and staff alumni as contacts in LinkedIn
• Search through your contacts connections to identify organizations you might like to explore
• Reach out to your Citizen Schools connection for assistance with an introduction or reference, and to think through the appropriate outreach message.

Facebook is used to keep in social contact with your friends and colleagues.

Join the Citizen Schools Facebook group if you would like to search for others, or let others know about where you are, and what you're doing. It is free to contact other individuals through Facebook.
