Apply to be a school support professional.
School support positions with Citizen Schools are an excellent opportunity for adults with experience working in schools who wish to work reduced hours while continuing to serve the needs of students.
Individuals in these roles usually work between 20-29 hours per week; some roles may be full-time (30-40 hours per week).
Our expanded-day partnerships with middle schools require a team of committed educators whose experience may include paraprofessionals, teachers, recess aides, special education professionals, guidance staff, or other caring adults with experience working with children outside of the school day.
There are four types of school support roles at Citizen Schools partnerships:
- Teaching Associate: lead a classroom of 15-20 students hands-on throughout the extended day program; running structured homework sessions, teaching supplemental lessons and facilitating apprenticeships.
- Step-Up Room Coordinator: work with students and families to improve behavior challenges that occur during the extended day.
- Campus Coordinator: supports program logistics and safety by engaging visitors and managing program transitions. May also assist the Campus Leadership with the management of systems and process to promote smooth operations.
- Regional Substitute (Floater): work in a number of schools within a particular district, serving as a substitute in a classroom when needed or adding capacity in a particular classroom working with students with special needs.
Specific positions available at each middle school partnership vary based on the size of the school and the student population served. View our current openings to learn more.
If you don’t see an immediate opening local to you, please register your interest so we can add you to our mailing list and update you as new positions become available.
