Meet a Team Leader

A recent college grad, Pierre is contemplating his next move. He’s a talented athlete, and will be attending a pro basketball camp this summer. However, he ultimately sees himself working with kids, putting his degree in psychology to good use. Our nontraditional format encourages creativity. For example, Pierre taught Basketball 101. Many Team Leaders cite exposure to the teaching styles of other Team Leaders, volunteers, and Citizen Schools staff as another benefit of the program, a great way to begin to hone one’s own approach to teaching. “ Everybody has their own way of relating to kids and their own style of teaching. It’s been great to pick other Team Leaders’ brains and apply their styles to mine.”
