- Convey concepts and ideas to students in both large and small group settings, as well as individually
- Manage relationships with a variety of constituents, including parents, students, and administrators
The Fellowship has prepared you to do these tasks because as a Fellow you have:
- Managed large and small groups of students through activities such as circle, team time, and apprenticeships
- Maintained constant contact with parents, school partners, and CTs to help your students learn
Leadership, Initiative and Problem Solving
A teaching position might require you to:
- Manage scope and sequence for your classrooms
- Use data from assessments to differentiate lessons and address individual students' needs
The Fellowship has prepared you to do these tasks because as a Fellow you have:
- Set achievable and measurable goals in the classroom for both individual lessons, students, and broader curricula
Instructional Skills and Instincts
A teaching position might require you to:
- Deliver effective, high quality lessons
- Tailor school-wide (grade level) curricula and standards
The Fellowship has prepared you to do these tasks because as a Fellow you have:
- Implemented objective-based instruction in the classroom that helped your students understand why the lessons they were learning were important
Community Building
A teaching position might require you to:
- Coach other teachers about best practices through professional development
- Seek out resources for your classroom for special projects, field trips, etc.
The Fellowship has prepared you to do these tasks because as a Fellow you have:
- Participated in and conducted professional development sessions to center staff around objectives for the classroom
- Collaborated with CTs to organize field trips, visits from professionals, and other activities to help kids get the most out of apprenticeships
