Bonjour, and greetings from the Woodrow Wilson Citizen Schools staff! Our mission for this academic year is a big one and we need your support to make it happen. Our team’s goal is to assure that every student at the Woodrow receives after-school support that complements in-school academics. This is accomplished through a guaranteed hour of homework every day, Monday through Thursday, and also linking our youth to professionals in the area, known as Citizen Teachers. These volunteers teach our students skills and professional practices such as carpentry, law and health careers, to name a few. At the heart of our program is our desire to see our students succeed academically.
My philosophy is that education sets the foundation for youth to become responsible members of society. Citizen Schools encompasses this philosophy, and as a staff we would like the opportunity to contribute to the academic growth of your child by providing a rigorous program that develops leadership and strengthens our community. I look forward to working with you and your students and thank you for considering Citizen Schools!
If you are interested in enrolling your child in our program, learning more about how you can volunteer with or join Citizen Schools' staff please feel free to stop by our office at the Wilson or call me. I look forward to seeing you!
