Welcome students, families, teachers and volunteers!
Citizen Schools is excited to be returning to Kennedy for our second year. Our program fosters a culture of achievement with the help of dedicated staff, teachers and volunteers, and we are very proud of the students whose hard work and perseverance show us what it means to succeed academically and personally.
- Students in Citizen Schools are given the time daily to work on homework and practice organizational skills which guide them towards academic success.
- Twice a week, students participate in exciting hands-on learning experiences called apprenticeships, in which they learn real-life skills such as law, design, dog training and much more. Apprenticeships are taught by community volunteers, Kennedy Middle School faculty, and Citizen Schools staff.
- Students also participate in team-building activities and on- and off-campus explorations.
If you are interested in enrolling your child in our program, learning more about how you can volunteer with or join Citizen Schools’ staff please feel free to stop by our office or call me. I look forward to seeing you!
