Letter from the Executive Director

Happy New Year! We are excited about the possibilities ahead for our students and communities. I want to share three exciting news updates and opportunities happening in these next few weeks.

Thank you again for your support and continuing this journey with us and over 650 amazing Bay Area youth to prove what's possible when we expand the learning day and mobilize communities to serve in our schools. May you have a fantastic start to your 2009.

Sincerely,

Nancy Taylor

Executive Director, Citizen Schools-California

Our Students Need You: Volunteer!

We have hands-on apprenticeship classes for 650+ students, and need just 20 more volunteers.  Sign up by Friday, Jan. 16 to teach students to argue mock trials, engineer solar cars, compose music, publish poetry, film documentaries, and much more.  Leverage your personal and professional passion to help students learn in real-world settings.  For more information contact Jessica Graham at 650-363-2726.

Thank you for your ongoing commitment to the power of investing in our future leaders!
