We Got That Pride!

We've started another exciting semester at the Gavin, and we've got big plans for the coming weeks.

  • Students in Citizen Schools spend 70 minutes every day working on homework and practicing organizational skills which will help them achieve in their classes.
  • Twice a week, students participate in exciting hands-on learning experiences called apprenticeships in which they learn real-life skills such as architecture, law, cooking, photography and more (see the list on the right).  Apprenticeships are taught by community volunteers and Citizen Schools staff.
  • Students spend much of their time on campus with their team. Student teams are like a home base for students; a place where they can feel comfortable and known develop social and team-work skills.

If you are interested in enrolling your child in our program, learning more about how you can volunteer with or join Citizen Schools' staff please feel free to stop by our office at the Gavin.  Check back often to learn more about our apprenticeships, explorations and special programs. And get ready to be WOW-ed in December!
